Here it is! A new blog for the start of a new life.
As most of my friends and family know, I got divorced at the end of 2009. It turned out to be one of the best things that could have happened to me! After dealing with the initial drama of the divorce and finding out about all the lies and deception, I turned to an old friend from Kowalski's.
Ten years ago, when we worked together, Brian was 28 and I was the young 16 year old working the front-end, so we weren't exactly friends back then, but when I moved into my house in 2007, I realized he lived just a few blocks away. So during a very difficult time, it seemed to make sense to try and get back in touch with Brian. He was more than welcoming, as were all his friends, who turned out to be all the people I used to work with. They were so warm and comforting during a very difficult time.
So for about 3 months, Brian and I grew increasingly close as friends. We started to hang out more and more and just got to be so comfortable around each other. I couldn't believe how easy it was to be around this guy and how much fun he was.
It was the eve of Valentine's Day, or what I termed Singles Awareness Day. I went out with a friend for what turned out to be a slightly depressing evening (imagine that). I called up Brian to see if he wanted to hang out and he was more than happy to keep a depressed, single lady company on a sucky day. We ended up having a very interesting conversation that night and over the next few days realized we both actually had feelings for the other.
The next few months were a whirlwind of emotions and amazing experiences. We fell in love. We have been dating ever since then and I could not be happier. I feel like I have been blessed to have found this amazing person who makes me feel just as amazing. Every day I see more and more what a great person Brian is. Yes, he is 12 years older than me, but that means nothing to us. I feel like we were meant to be together. Our experiences and time has brought us together in the perfect situation and at the perfect time. We are so happy and excited to see what the future holds for Kimberly and Brian!
